To be a good Republican one needs to believe:

1. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Barack Obama.

2. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s Daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.

3. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

4. The United States should get out of the United Nations, while our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

5. A woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multinational drug corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

6. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans’ benefits and combat pay.

7. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won’t have sex.

8. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

9. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMO’s and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

10. Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

11. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

12. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

13. The public has a right to know about Hillary’s cattle trades, but George Bush’s driving record is none of our business.

14. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

15. Supporting “Executive Privilege” for every Republican ever born, who will be born or who might be born (in perpetuity.)

16. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960’s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the 1980’s is irrelevant.

17. Support hunters who shoot their friends and blame them for wearing orange vests similar to those worn by quail.

The Weekly Pickens

September 17, 2008

Hello from the Pickens Plan!

First, a quick reminder that our latest call the action, T. Boone Pickens’ Energy Independence Pledge, is ongoing.  Please take a moment to forward the pledge to your own Governor and Members of Congress—because no matter who our next President is, we’re going to need as many of our elected leaders as possible on our side come January.

In other news

Here’s a great story: Last weekend, T. Boone met with Lee Scott, the CEO of Wal-Mart, and some 3,000 Wal-Mart associates. After hearing T. Boone’s presentation of the plan, Mr. Scott asked one of his regional managers how many trucks Wal-Mart operates. He was told there are about 8,500 trucks currently in use. Then something remarkable happened. Mr. Scott, obviously impressed by the Pickens Plan, asked to immediately begin a study of what would be involved in replacing a fleet of diesel trucks with ones that run on compressed natural gas.

To have America’s largest retailer looking into shifting their trucking fleet to run on natural gas is a major step towards our country’s energy independence—and proof that the Pickens Plan, with your help and efforts, is reaching not just the highest powers in Washington, but the highest powers in business as well.

Finally, T. Boone continued his town hall events last week, with stops in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Salt Lake City, Utah. You can watch video of both events at the Pickens Plan blog, The Daily Pickens, where you can also find video of T. Boone’s entertaining appearance on The Tonight Show.

Thank you for your continued support,

— Team Pickens

Great to hear.  This paired with their local food initiaves is good news for those ’should the price really be this low?’ prices and Walmart’s bottom line.  As an entity thats rivaled only by our government in size and userbase its up to them to lead the way or step aside and let the local coops run the show.

Good news for people that drink milk comes from the monsanto camp…  they’re finally giving up and selling!

Now we just need to go after Elanco, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly.  Nice work people.

I’m very thankful for organizations like moveOn.org , with their help we might actually have a chance against these big business fuckers…  This taken verbatim from a lovely email i received today that i thought i’d share.

What if there was a vote to decide if $13.5 billion in tax breaks for oil companies should go into oil alternatives, like solar and wind? What would you want your Senator to do?

Well, as you probably guessed, there was such a vote. We needed 60 votes to prevail, and 59 of them were in. But John McCain ducked the vote.1

As a result, instead of powering millions of homes with clean energy and building next-generation solar technology, we’re giving ExxonMobil and other companies billions in tax breaks at a time when they’re already making record profits.

This vote is political dynamite. And if we all pitch in, we can make sure voters know about McCain’s give-away to big oil. And it’s a twofer—we’ll run the ad in the battleground state of North Carolina to help remind voters that Senator Elizabeth Dole, who’s up for re-election, voted for big oil tax breaks, too.

Check out the ad here:

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/dolead.html?id=13514-10061977-VcEFRQx&t=3

The ad links Republican support for oil tax breaks with the campaign contributions they’re taking from the oil companies.

Exposing their favors for big oil can puncture Republican promises to help people hurting from high gas prices.

Dear GraphOn,

Also apple should sue you for ripping your website designs from them.  matter of fact i really like the font u used, … and i used it on a site 8 years ago – should i sue u?

bastards.

Sincerely hate every thing your company stands for,

Briston Davidge

Please don’t vote for this fool.  Another 4-8 years of the same ol oil company testicle massaging.

Bush pulled one over on us using GOD as his guise, and look where he left us (currently trying to make birth control an illegal form of abortion).  Ever dependent on oil – right where his father wanted us…  lets not let this happen again and waste another decade.  the time is now! do it.

Lets politely ask Mccain to go fuck himself along with the big oil lobbyists that cater to his every beckoning whim…

thanks to moveon.org for these great articles…

Well its been hotter than balls here in KC over the last week so i’ve managed to scrape some extra time together to finally finish some panos and stop motion stuff i’ve shot over the last 6 months. So without further “adoo”

Here i will post the smallest little changes i’ve made in my life the past couple of years to try to conserve resources of all types.

(in no particular order)

  • Quit wasting clean enough water by pouring it down the sink and making it the next town down rivers problem, possible uses include:
  • drinking water for ur animals
  • water ur plants (if you let water sit for 24 or so hours the chlorine evaporates out of it, your plants will love your for it)
  • fill ur birdbath
  • pour on foundation of house (in summertime)
    • Reuse bottled water bottles.
    • If you insist on driving try Hypermiling [link]
    • Buy recycled products (and then recycle them after use)

    … more to come

    Meet Chester Sauce.

    Chester Sauce

Chester was owned by a neighbor nikki and i had in 03, this asshole had him tied to a tree in the front yard w/ a 10′ chain running security for his crack-ops. The first few times we noticed him: ‘dirt dog’ as we referred to him – the scariest thing i’d ever seen (well not really but seriously he looked f*ing fierce). They lived in back of our apartment bldg – our backdoor was their backyard. These people would sit outside for hours on end in their truck. i’d go to work at 8am and return many hours later and they’d still b there, cracked out of their gords. When we first looked at the apt the person ’sold’ us w/ the new cabinets that come to find out had burned in a meth operation that i imagine the neighbors had some racket going on together. The place smelled ‘odd’ always. Back to chester, they would just throw table scraps out to him – i don’t recall ever seeing him w/ water they provided, just a dusty nasty bowl. This was a balls hot summer too – i mean really, really ridiculously hot.

We started making the plan to liberate him. We moved out a few months later and a few days after we got settled in we knew it was time. We somehow acquired the most amazing piece of property when we rented this new place. Perhaps a half an acre backing up to woods (we had monster bonfire parties). very nice land, w/ an old shitty 50’s shanty of a house on it a Chester Heaven. We drove back to the old neighborhood, parked up the street and walked down to the neighbors house. The plan at this point is just to snatch and RUN. Bad plan, we somehow hoped we’d catch them on one of their ‘breaks’ from truck duty, not this time :( .

Plan spoiled and in the heat of the moment, we just straight up asked to take him (and another smaller dog whos story is just as good. ’spuds’) for a walk (In the conversation we were informed that chester the lab/pit mix was a “showdog” hehe hes a show dog in our eyes : ) ). They obliged and off we go up the street being pulled by ‘haas’ sauce. Rounded the corner and popped them into the back of the vehicle and off we went, to a new life. :)

Chester has since been the best dog we’ve ever had and possibly might ever have. Gentle, kind, loving and handsome as hell loving life and everyone in his. He comes to work w/ me often, although lately he’s having troubles getting up the many stairs to our office so he stays at gmas hogging the bed and keeping her company.

I have an exciting opportunity to help an amazing organization out. Mabbr.org helps ‘bully breeds’ find good homes and whatnot. Having two rescue bullys myself it makes me think of poor chester tied to that f*ing tree for <b>5 years</b>. BASTARDS! see we stole ur dog :) .

Anyways, i’m going to gear them up w/ a content management system of sorts to alleviate the exhorbitant hourly commitment of the already overworked proprietor. They personalize the listings w/ utube videos and plenty of photos, even going as far as a ‘this dog needs a sponsor’ function. NEAT IDEA! so a user could help in more than one way – if they can’t adopt they can sponsor, genius.

Should be exciting, and my contact seems nice – all these people are overworked; i’m happy to help out : )

Will post links when i can.
